GO BACK TO NEWS PAGE • POST A COMMENT The Syracuse New Times Syracuse Area Music Awards People's Choice Vote 2010 has officially moved into round two of this season's voting. The upcoming round will sort bands and venues down to the top 64 in each category by total votes. Round 2 will conclude on Wednesday, Aug. 25, at midnight.
Only those bands and venues that have been entered into our initial, open voting round will continue to future rounds of the People's Choice vote.
Round one was an open vote that ended on Aug. 18 at midnight. It resulted in nearly 3,000 votes. There were fewer venues submitted to the system than the 128 venue cutoff, and so all 78 submitted venues remain. There was also a massive tie for last place in the band category, and so all 142 entered bands remain.
However, next week's competition will heat up when only the top 64 are selected to stay in the game. Remember, you may vote once per day, so get your friends and bandmates in on it!
Happy voting!

E.S.P. is a great group but one group that you should definitely check out is Campobasso. They haven't played many live shows but when they do, they always win the crowd over. The group is made up of a number of talented local college kids that have lived in the area since grade school. I personally love the sax player- Jon Paduano. I'm guessing he's been studying with Joe Riposo since he's a music student up at SU. That kid sure can blow. The bassist is nasty too- Shane! He plays at Water Street Cafe on Fridays. This group is definitely one that should be on everyone's radar. GO CAMPOBASSO!!!
Go Chris Lizzi
E.S.P. has always been a real eye-(or in better words, 'ear')catcher. They always conjure up diverse melodies fantastically smooth yet funky harmonies...simply fantastic. Always proving that they are definitely worthy of being crowned 'best band'.
