The mission of the Syracuse Area Music Awards has remained true since the first awards ceremony was held in 1993: to honor the musicians who work so hard to imbue the local music scene with their artistry. The SAMMYS has lived on since its founding in 1992, which speaks to the dedication of the volunteers on the Sammys executive board, aiming to bring Syracuse’s most prominent musicians to the forefront of public attention.
